Politics shouldn't be put into Strathfield Council. Or put it another way, Strathfield Council should not be used by any particular politician for political purposes. Having said that, one or two people then came around to my house. One of them, and I'm sure he won't mind me mentioning his name, is Robert Kell, who subsequently became who was an Alderman then and subsequently became mayor. So that was one of the thoughts that I had at the time. When I announced my candidature, I was pleasantly surprised at the support that I received and subsequently from the House to house canvassing that I did during the campaign.
